Adaline Naccarato is an Ambassador Level Girl Scout and has earned her Silver and Bronze Awards and has completed three Journeys.  She is currently working on her Girl Scout Gold Award by creating the SHOES Comic Book to serve as a deterrent to Bullying.  Adaline was inspired to be an animator from the Japanese animated series Sailor Moon, novel book series like Animorphs, and video games such as Kirby and Sonic the Hedgehog. She is also a writer, an actress and video gamer.  

Author's statement:
In this day and age of electronic devises and social media pages, I decided to use a more classic method sharing information with the creation of an anti-bullying Comic Book.   This Comic Book entitled “How To Walk In Someone’s SHOES” is an avenue for using my talents and resources to bring about social awareness and change.  My SHOES Comic Book aims to provide a vibrant, engaging, and accessible platform to address the complex issue of bullying head-on.  What truly sets my approach apart is my commitment to exploring many angles of the topic, including the often over-looked perspectives of the bullying topic. SHOES delves into the motivations and circumstances that may lead someone to bully.   It also addresses how these same circumstances can also foster the development of empathy and sympathy especially in younger readers of the comic.  The goal of SHOES is to provide more insight and was not written to be a feel good story with a fairy tale ending.  Its purpose is to make the reader think and reflect on their own behaviors and determine in their lives are they now, or were they then a bully, a bystander, or an upstander, and what was the result of their choice?
